I would have taken no pleasure in Guido Fawkes being sent to prison; he has a young family, after all, who would also have suffered. And most of those who have posted comments in various parts of the blogosphere seem to want him banged up because of his political views rather than his crime.

However, I find it odd that that just one day before he pleaded guilty to a serious crime, he criticised Nick Clegg for making no illegal expenses claims. He also repeats the myth (which I’m sure he doesn’t believe himself) that claims made against an MP’s office costs - the Incidental Expenses Provision - go straight into his pocket. They don’t - they pay for running an office.
